This campsite was tough to find. The tent is perched on the only dry level patch of sand I could find. That patch of sand is exactly the size of the base of the tent. The sand the kayak is on is very shallow with wet peat moss below it. Each time I stepped near the kayak, my feeet sank deeper into the peat. There were so many insects that all I could hear after I stopped was the loud sound of buzzing bugs. The sand flies were so profuse that when I stopped walking on the sand, so many of them landed on my feet that I couldn't see them. That said, not too many bugs got into the tent once I settled in for the night.
