The southside of Cumberland House as I saw it after spending the night on the shore of the Saskatchewan River. Sid Carrier offered to move my camp to the shoreline, otherwise I would have had a 5-mile portage to go from Cumberland Lake back to the river. My experiences at Cumberland House were my best experience with aboriginals during my entire trip. I was met with instant friendship and was offered all the help I wanted. I will return there to share my paddling experiences with all whom I met while there.
